We’ve officially made it to rivalry week of the 2018 College Football season. Here are our picks against the spread for some of the notable matchups.

We’ve officially made it to rivalry weekend, one of the greatest weekends of College Football each season.

Today, we’ll be giving you our picks against the spread for four of the most notable rivalry games that are being played with something on the line this weekend.

Tune in to Rubbing the Rock Friday for our spread prediction on the Clemson-South Carolina game and our game-by-game predictions for the entire weekend on College Football.

  • #6 Oklahoma at #13 West Virginia

Current Spread: West Virginia +3

Spread Prediction:

We’ve got several good games Friday, including this one. West Virginia is currently a three-point underdog after losing this past weekend to Oklahoma State.

While most believe Oklahoma will take care of business, I’m actually taking the Mountaineers in a bounce-back game to not only cover that three-point spread, but to win straight-up.

  • #16 Washington at #8 Washington State

Current Spread: Washington State -2.5

Spread Prediction:

The Apple Cup will also take place Friday night. Washington State is a 2.5-point favorite, despite absolutely thrashing Arizona this past weekend.

I know everyone seems to be cautious when talking about the Cougars, but this team is one of the top-seven teams in the country, no doubt. They’re just better than Washington and I think the Cougars get the job done at home and win the game by more than 2.5.

  • #4 Michigan at #10 Ohio State

Current Spread: Ohio State +4.5

Spread Prediction:

Ohio State doesn’t have a defense, but has a prolific offense.

Michigan doesn’t have much of an offense, but has a prolific defense.

I would still take the Wolverines’ offense over the Buckeyes’ defense and that’s the difference in this game. Michigan covers 4.5 points and gives Ohio State its second loss of the season, eliminating the Buckeyes from playoff contention.

  • #11 Florida at Florida State

Current Spread: Florida State +6.5

Spread Prediction:

Florida State is not good, but Florida is vastly overrated. I picked this game because I think it’s the hardest to predict out of all of them.

In the end, I think the Gators probably win by a touchdown or so, but I’m not really sure. I don’t trust Florida, but I trust Florida State even less. That’s why I’m taking the Gators to cover the spread.
