Clemson football will take on the Boston College Eagles Saturday in a game that will be featured on ESPN College GameDay. The Eagles may be without their best player in AJ Dillon.

The Clemson football team will travel up to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts to take on the Boston College Eagles Saturday night.

The game will be broadcasted live on ABC at 8 p.m. and will be the ESPN College GameDay game of the week.

Why?

This is a battle of two top-20 teams and is the de facto ACC Atlantic Division Championship game.

If the Tigers win, they clinch the division for a fourth-straight season. If Boston College pulled off the upset, the Eagles would still have to win their final two games against Florida State and Syracuse.

With that being said, could the Eagles be without the ACC Preseason Player of the Year in running back AJ Dillon?

Will Dillon play?

Dillon has been playing on a hurt ankle for quite some time now and seemed to re-tweak it against Virginia Tech last week.

There were talks that he was also suffering concussion-like symptoms, but Boston College Coach Steve Addazio seemed to just be concerned about the ankle.

Addazio told the media Tuesday that he felt optimistic that Dillon would be able to play and that the star running back had looked good so far.

"“I saw him bouncing around with a good smile on his face,” Addazio said via The Boston Herald. “He’s dinged up and it is what it is, that’s not going to significantly change one way or the other. “The question becomes how well he can handle that. But I would assume with these kinds of injuries you are not going to feel exactly the way you should feel until you get to a bowl game in a few weeks.”"

So, if I had to guess, I would say that we will see Dillon play Saturday. But, I would also be willing to bet that he won’t be at 100 percent. As a matter of fact, I don’t see any way he is back at 100 percent by Saturday. But, even at less than 100 percent, I think Dillon could make some plays. He’s a very talented running back and it will be exciting to watch him and that BC offensive line go up against that dynamic front-seven for Clemson.

The Eagles will need Dillon to play one of the best games of his career Saturday to have a chance against Clemson football.

It will be interesting to see what recovery and rehab he can do this week to be prepared for the Tigers.
