The Clemson football team absolutely dominated Florida State along the line of scrimmage on its way to a huge victory Saturday afternoon.

The Clemson football team traveled down to Tallahassee and completely dominated the Florida State Seminoles, winning by a final score of __.

The Tigers not only picked up a win that pushed them to 8-0 overall on the season, but they made a statement to the nation in doing so.

The spread on this game was 17 points and many analysts were tempted to take Florida State plus the points. Well, Clemson football not only beat the spread, but more than doubled it.

Analysis:

Trevor Lawrence played about halfway through the third quarter. Lawrence finished the 20-of-37 for 314 yards and four touchdown passes to no interceptions.

With the solid day, Lawrence broke Deshaun Watson’s record for touchdown passes in a season as a freshman.

The Tigers held Florida State to just -21 rushing yards and didn’t allow any points until the third-stringers were heavily planted into the game.

Florida State made plenty of mistakes, including several dumb penalties and couldn’t block Clemson’s defensive line basically all day.

This was just a great performance on both sides of the ball from the Tigers and exactly what they needed heading into November. The College Football Playoff Committee shouldn’t have any other choice but to cement the Tigers in as the No. 2 team in the nation.

As it was also a statement to the rest of the nation, it was also a statement to recruits and to Florida State about the differences in the two programs.
