Former Clemson football quarterback Deshaun Watson was placed on the injured list following leading the Houston Texans to a victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

It was reported earlier this week that former Clemson quarterback and current Houston Texan Deshaun Watson was injured in the win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Watson, who returned this year after suffering a torn ACL last season, was said to be having chest pains following some really tough blows against the Cowboys.

He took several big shots in the pocket and it was clear that he was bruised and battered following the gutsy performance.

Despite all of that, Watson told ESPN that he was “sure” that he would play this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

"“Just another day in the office, just recovering from the game, and got to get ready for Buffalo,” Watson said via ESPN. “It’s part of the game and I was able to take some shots and just regroup and keep moving forward.”"

Heart of a Champion…

The Texans have to get some solid offensive line talent or they’re going to get Deshaun Watson killed.

He was shaky to open up the season, but seems to have gotten into a rhythm as of late. With that being said, though, it can’t help when you’re constantly having to escape the clutches of a defensive lineman or taking a shot after staying in the pocket to deliver a throw.

Through it all, though, Watson displays a heart of a champion.

After the Texans went down 0-3 to start the year, they have won two-straight and seem to be getting better as the weeks progress. With a win this weekend, Watson could have his team back up to .500 and could keep them within a game of first place in the AFC South.

This season is by no means over for Watson, DeAndre Hopkins and the Texans. They’re going to need some things fall their way, but there’s a confidence about this franchise that they can get the job done.

It will be interesting to see how Watson performs this week with the injury against a Buffalo Bills team that is also 2-3.
