The Clemson football team will travel to Winston-Salem to take on Wake Forest. Will the Tigers have any trouble handling the Demon Deacons?

Clemson football will be looking to head into the bye week with a perfect 6-0 record with a win against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Saturday afternoon.

Every single game presents its unique challenges and this one is no different.

The question that we’ve been asked is simply this: Will the Tigers face problems against Wake Forest?

Here’s our answer.

Statement Game…

My gut feeling is that this is a statement game for Clemson football.

Look, it doesn’t matter what the national analysts are saying. It doesn’t matter if the entire country is discrediting the Tigers and calling them “overrated.” It really doesn’t.

But, sometimes talk like that instills a will and fire into a team to make a statement, especially in a game right before a bye week.

You could see the defensive line fired up, especially in the second half, of the Syracuse game. It was almost as if they were proving to the nation that they were worth the hype.

This week, I don’t think you’ll see that amount of hype, but I do think you’ll see an intense focus and intensity from both sides of the ball.

The biggest area of concern for the Tigers would be Wake Forest’s passing game with talented wide receiver Greg Dortch against that unproven secondary.

In the end, though, I don’t see anything stopping Clemson from scoring a lot of points on offense and from finding a way to get some stops on defense. In the end, this- in my opinion- will be the highest scored game for the Tigers to this current part of the season and we’ll all head into the bye week feeling much better about this team going forward.
