This week’s slate of games features several top-tier match ups across the nation. Here are our College Football picks against the spread for week six.

This week in College Football, there are several top-tier match ups across the nation for the viewing audience to keep their eye on.

Every week, Rubbing the Rock gives you spread predictions on some of the top games around the nation.

Last week, unfortunately, we were unable to get picks up before Saturday with all the news surround Clemson, but now we’ll get back in the hang of things.

Currently, we are 11-9 on the season.

  • #19 Texas at #7 Oklahoma

Current Spread: Oklahoma -7.5

Spread Prediction:

I know everyone wants to pretend that Texas is back, but I’m just not buying the Longhorns, especially against that Oklahoma offense.

This should be a high-scoring, exciting game, but I’m taking the Sooners to cover here.

  • #5 LSU at #22 Florida

Current Spread: Florida +2.5

Spread Prediction:

If you ever wanted a lock, this is it.

This game is a battle of two teams that are, in my opinion, vastly overrated. I think LSU is probably a top-10 team, but no way that they’re the fifth best team in the nation. I know they beat Miami handily and Auburn a couple of weeks ago, but they’re about to hit a three-game stretch (following this game) where they very well may lose all three (vs. Georgia, vs. Mississippi State, vs. Alabama).

This week, though, I think it’s a lock to take the Tigers. Florida is not a top-25 team and I think a 2.5-point spread is a complete joke for this game.

  • #13 Kentucky at Texas A&M

Current Spread: Texas A&M -5.5

Spread Prediction:

I’ve got no clue what to make of this game. At the beginning of the week, I was ready to take Kentucky outright, but now I’m starting to think that the Aggies will win this one with it being a home game at night.

Texas A&M will be fighting for their lives Saturday and I’m going to go against my instincts and take the Aggies to win the game, but not cover the spread.

  • #5 Notre Dame at #24 Virginia Tech

Current Spread: Notre Dame -6.5

Spread Prediction:

Virginia Tech lost to Old Dominion. How can one take them to keep a game within six points against Notre Dame? Even so, Vegas believes this game will be close.

I have a feeling that this game will go one of two ways: A close Virginia Tech win or a blowout Notre Dame loss.

I’m going to take the Hokies to cover this one, but just like the Texas A&M pick, I don’t feel good about it.

  • Syracuse at Pittsburgh

Current Spread: Pittsburgh +3.5

Spread Prediction:

Syracuse is just a 3.5-point favorite against Pittsburgh. The only way I see the Orange winning this game by less than four points is if they allow the tough Clemson loss to turn into two.

In my opinion, Syracuse is just the more talented team. I’m taking the Orange to beat the spread and get back on the right track following the loss in Death Valley last week.

Next. Kyler McMichael earned more playing time with performance. dark

So, to review, we’re taking:

  • Oklahoma -7.5 vs. Texas
  • LSU -2.5 vs. Florida
  • Kentucky +5.5 vs. Texas A&M
  • Virginia Tech +6.5 vs. Notre Dame
  • Syracuse -3.5 vs. Pittsburgh
