Clemson football, despite what many analysts are saying, is still one of the favorites to win the College Football Playoff, according to Vegas.

The Clemson football team defeated the Syracuse Orange in dramatic fashion Saturday afternoon following an injury to starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

The Tigers had been faced with adversity all week following the decision from the coaches to name Lawrence the starter and the announcement from senior Kelly Bryant to transfer that ensued shortly thereafter.

In the end, it was Chase Brice who was able to lead the Tigers to a comeback victory, preserving the season and Clemson’s College Football Playoff chances.

Vegas updated its odds for the College Football Playoff title game winners and Heisman Trophy Monday. Here is where the Tigers stand.

Clemson Football Odds:

Currently, the Tigers are third in the nation, according to Vegas, in odds to win the National Championship. Bama is one (1/2 odds), Ohio State is two (9/2 odds) and Clemson comes in behind those two schools at 5/1 odds.

Behind the Tigers are Georgia (6/1), Notre Dame (12/1) and Oklahoma (20/1).

Overall, this is right about what you would think for the Tigers. For some reason, everyone believes we should crown the top-four here at the beginning of October. Everyone seems to forget that there are a ton of undefeated teams right now that won’t be undefeated midway through November.

It happens every single season. We hear analysts talking about how “this could be the year that we have four undefeated teams” and it never happens and it’s not going to happen this year either.

Next. Why Travis Etienne should be a Heisman Contender. dark

In the end, the Tigers still have a long way to go, but I’m looking forward to seeing how they improve over the next few weeks.

In Heisman odds, both Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne are listed at 100/1 odds.
