It was announced Friday that Clemson football would for sure be playing against the Georgia Southern Eagles this Saturday.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at 3:30 p.m., but with the threat of some affects from Hurricane Florence, it was moved up to noon.

Here is our pick against the spread for the game Saturday.

Clemson Football Pick Against the Spread

Current Spread: Clemson -33

Spread Prediction:

33 points is a lot of points to give a team right off hand. The Tigers originally opened up as a 34.5-point favorite, but that has dropped slightly.

Especially with there being a threat of wind and maybe some rain during the game Sunday, I just don’t see the Tigers covering that huge spread. I still think you’ll see a comfortable win, but it may be something like 41-17 or 42-10. Something in that range.

I could be wrong, but the Clemson offense just hasn’t proven to me yet that it is capable of scoring much more than in the 40s as far as points are concerned and the defense, with all the switching and substituting that will be done, will give up a touchdown or two at some point late in the game.

This could be a game in which the Tigers take that step forward and just completely blow the spread up, but for now I have to go on what I’ve seen through the first two games of the season.

Current Over/Under: 47

Over/Under Prediction:

I kept thinking about the “under” in this one, but 47 is just too low. I know that Vegas odds are probably thinking a score like 38-7 or something like that, but I think this game is pretty much a lock to go “over.”

47 is far too low for a game like this and the only thing that would change this would be if the wind and rain really played a factor and I just don’t see that happening.
