Week two of College Football is nearly upon us. Here are our spread predictions for the second week of the season in some of the prominent games.

Every week, we try to give you our best predictions for the five of the premiere games around the College Football landscape.

In week one, we opened up the spread prediction campaign with a 4-1 record.

We had West Virginia minus the 10 against Tennessee, Alabama minus the 24.5 against Louisville, Notre Dame minus two against Michigan and LSU plus the 3.5 against Miami. Our only wrong pick was Washington plus 1.5 against Auburn.

This week, we’ll take a look at five more games and hope not to mess things up after what very well may be the best week of our season when it comes to predictions.

Keep in mind, though, we’ll do the Clemson football game separately on Friday. We always have a post predicting the Tigers’ spread and that will be done on the site as well, so be looking out for it. But here are five games from around the nation and our spread predictions.

All spreads are given out by OddsShark.com.

College Football: Week 2 Spread Predictions

  • Rutgers at Ohio State

Spread: Ohio State -28

Spread Prediction:

You know it’s a weak week of College Football when Rutgers at Ohio State makes one of our five games. There were a couple of others to consider, but I ultimately went with this one because I liked the spread.

If you want a “lock of the week,” this is it. Ohio State minus the 28. Take it to the bank now.

There’s no way in the world the Buckeyes don’t beat Rutgers out of the building. It will probably be a 28-point game by halftime.

  • USC at Stanford

Spread: Stanford -5.5

Spread Prediction:

5.5 points at home seems like a pretty easy take for me. I don’t trust this USC team at all and I like David Shaw.

He doesn’t have the athletes to compete or make the College Football Playoff, or probably even win the Pac-12 North, but he should be able to beat the train wreck that has been Southern Cal.

Until otherwise proven, I’m picking against the Trojans, especially on the road.

  • Penn State at Pittsburgh

Spread: Pittsburgh +8.5

Spread Prediction:

Pittsburgh is an 8.5 point underdog at home to a team that should’ve lost to Appalachian State last week.

I like some of the Panthers athletes and I think they can compete in this game. The Big Ten may have power, but they certainly don’t have speed. If this was that James Conner-led Pitt team, I’d take the Panthers straight up to win.

But, in this situation, it’s tough to pick against Trace McSorley and Co. after they survived that scare a week ago. This is a tough spread, and I believe the Nittany Lions will win the game, but I’ll actually take the Panthers to keep it within a touchdown. Maybe a 23-17-type game?

  • Georgia at South Carolina

Spread: South Carolina +10

Spread Prediction:

Other than Clemson vs. Texas A&M, this is actually the biggest game of the weekend. As far as postseason implications are concerned, it is the biggest.

South Carolina is looking to upset the Bulldogs and take control of that SEC East Division. Georgia has its mind set on getting back to the College Football Playoff.

I’m not really sure what to expect out of this game. I think the Gamecocks have some talented players to match up with Georgia and they always tend to play the Bulldogs close at home.

This one feels like a nail biter that ends in heartbreak-fashion for Will Muschamp and Co. I’m picking Georgia to win the game, but for South Carolina to cover the spread. And it won’t hurt my feelings one bit for the Bulldogs to beat the spread and for me to be wrong on this one.

  • Kentucky at Florida

Spread: Florida -14

Spread Prediction:

What people are seeing in Florida beats me. The Gators have absolutely no offense. How in the world are they going to cover a 14-point spread when they can’t even score 20 in a game? Even if it is Kentucky, I just don’t see Florida putting up enough points to cover that spread.

I’m not sure who wins the game outright, but the Wildcats cover the spread. Sorry, Florida. You’re no College Football Playoff contender despite what those two analysts may say.

So, to recap, here are our five spread predictions for week two. We are currently 4-1 ATS on the season.

  • Ohio State -28 vs. Rutgers
  • Stanford -5.5 vs. USC
  • Pitt +8.5 vs. Penn State
  • South Carolina +10 vs. Georgia
  • Kentucky +14 vs. Florida
