ESPN released its list of the top-50 College Football players in the nation. The Clemson football team had five players named to the list.

Clemson football had five players listed inside the top-50 of ESPN’s top-50 College Football players list.

Of the five players, two were listed inside the top-five.

Here’s a look at the five Tigers named to the list, according to ESPN.

ESPN’s Top 50 List…

  • Christian Wilkins, No. 4
  • Dexter Lawrence, No. 5
  • Clelin Ferrell, No. 12
  • Austin Bryant, No. 24
  • Tee Higgins, No. 40

The dynamic duo of Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence at defensive tackle comes in at No. 4 and No. 5 in the nation.

It’s amazing to me that Clemson football doesn’t just have one of the top defensive tackles, it has two of the top three. The only one ranked ahead of those two, according to ESPN, was Houston’s Ed Oliver, who is ranked No. 1.

Clelin Ferrell and Austin Bryant both are named to the list as well, making Clemson’s entire starting offensive line ranked inside the top-25 best players in the nation. That’s pretty impressive for one single unit.

It doesn’t surprise me to see Tee Higgins on this list, but I do respect the ESPN writer for putting him on there when Higgins hasn’t had a ton of experience yet. I do believe that, by the end of the year, Higgins will certainly be a top-50 player.

Outside of these five guys, there are a few others that I think could’ve garnered consideration for Clemson. First, is running back Travis Etienne, who is set to be one of the best in the nation, in my opinion. I also believe that you could consider a few other players like a Kendall Joseph, for example.
