Clemson Football: When does 2018 Fall Camp begin?

Clemson football will begin fall camp this week. Here’s a quick preview and all you need to know heading into preseason practice.

The first game of the 2018 Clemson football season is just a month away.

The Tigers will take on the Furman Paladins in Death Valley Saturday, September 1st. Before that, though, we have about a month of practice to get through.

In fall camp, position battles will be won, leaders will emerge and young freshmen will get their first taste of practices.

Here’s when fall camp will begin and what you need to be on the lookout for heading into preseason practices.

Clemson Football Fall Camp Info…

The Tigers will begin preseason practice Friday, August 3rd in the late afternoon.

They will start in just shirts and shorts before transitioning to half-shells and then to full pads. The first scrimmage will take place Saturday, August 11. The Tigers will then have a couple more scrimmages in addition to the practice sessions they will have leading up to game week.

For me, the most watched battle will be between the quarterbacks. We will see Kelly Bryant take on true-freshman Trevor Lawrence.

I would expect that Bryant continues to be the starter, but that we see a healthy mix of Lawrence throughout the season.

It will also be interesting to see how the freshmen– specifically guys like Derion Kendrick, Justyn Ross, Xavier Thomas, KJ Henry and Jackson Carman– progress as we get into the thick of August.
