5-star Cornerback Andrew Booth announced his commitment to Clemson football Monday afternoon. Here’s what he brings to the Tigers.

The 2019 Clemson football recruiting class picked up a very special member Monday afternoon when cornerback Andrew Booth announced his commitment to the Tigers.

Booth, one of the top priority targets for Clemson in the 2019 cycle, announced his decision via Twitter.

He attended the All-In Cookout Friday evening and had the chance to see 4-star linebacker Vonta Bentley commit to the Tigers.

Booth became the 22nd commitment for the 2019 Clemson football class and he is the fourth commitment in four days for the Tigers.

Elite in Pass-Coverage…

Booth is an elite cornerback with the ability to come in and play right away. He reminds me a lot of what I saw out of Trayvon Mullen coming out of high school.

He is currently rated as the No. 3 cornerback in the nation.

When watching Booth on film, I notice two things: He is physical and athletic. That’s the perfect blend.

In pass-coverage, he is able to take elite wide receivers and put them on an island. Quarterbacks that are brave enough to throw his way end up getting picked off.

Booth is also a very good punt returner, which could be useful for the Tigers in the future, as well.

It will be interesting to see how Booth progresses as a senior before arriving on campus. With his commitment, Clemson moved to No. 4 overall in the 247 sports composite team rankings.

The Tigers now have just a few scholarship spots open. They will be able to fill a few more spots with early enrollees, but that class is certainly starting to get full.
