The 2019 Clemson football class is really starting to pick up in numbers now. The Tigers received a commitment from a 3-star linebacker Thursday evening.

The 2019 Clemson football class has received several commitments in the past couple of weeks.

Just this week, the Tigers have received commitments from 3-star DE Logan Cash, 3-star S Ray Thornton, and 3-star LB Greg Williams.

We will be giving our analysis of all the recent commitments in the next week, but I wanted to start out with Williams.

Williams, an in-state product out of Swansea, chose Clemson football Thursday evening. The Tigers were the second Power-Five school to offer him and, to me, that’s a big surprise.

A future All-American…

Do you see that wing span? When I watch this kid’s video, I get extremely excited in what I see. He does a great job closing in on runners and is as physical as anyone.

He could actually move to defensive end if needed, in my opinion, but I think Clemson will try him out at linebacker first.

Those measurables, alongside elite athleticism and physicality, make Williams a very special player. In my opinion, you could be looking at a future All-American. There’s no way in the world that Williams is a 3-star.

Before it’s all said and done, the recruiting services will upgrade him either to a 4-star or a 5-star. Honestly, there’s nothing not to like about this kid.

Watching him play makes me really excited and he’s the exact type of guy that Brent Venables wants in his system. It may take him a year or two to develop, but I think he’s going to develop into something really special.
