2015: Orange Bowl victory over Oklahoma

Sticking with Orange Bowl victories, in 2015 Clemson football beat the Oklahoma Sooners in their first ever College Football Playoff appearance.

I know this game is overshadowed by the fact that Clemson lost to Alabama in the National Championship, but I don’t think it should be forgotten.

The Tigers came into the game as the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff, but believe it or not they were underdogs.

National pundits were enamored with Baker Mayfield and that Oklahoma offense. The Sooners talked and promised to avenge a loss to Clemson a year ago.

They weren’t able to follow up on that promise.

As a result, Clemson won its first College Football Playoff game and headed to the National Championship game.
