5. Christian Wilkins

Let’s start with a fan favorite.

Christian Wilkins returned for his senior season despite already earning his degree. He loves Clemson football that much.

The thought of leaving Tiger Town with a loss to Alabama as his last game didn’t sit well with Wilkins and he decided to return to try and lead Clemson to a second national championship in three years.

For Wilkins to win the Heisman a lot of things would have to happen, but I don’t think it’s too crazy that he could be considered a candidate. The voters love to give a guy some love on the defensive side of the ball when possible. The defensive guy never ends up winning the award, but he can be invited to New York.

If Wilkins comes back this season dominates the line of scrimmage, maybe even rushes or catches a couple of touchdowns in Clemson football’s special package, I think he could put his name in the drawing for the Heisman Trophy.

Wilkins is certainly capable of being a first-team All-American this season and it will be fun to watch him play his last season with the Tigers.
