The 2019 recruiting cycle features some very talented prospects. Here are the top guys that are considering Clemson football at this point.

When you look at the list of prospects in the 2019 recruiting cycle, you see that there are a lot of guys yet to make a decision.

Of course, it’s only May and many of these guys plan to take five official visits in the fall before making a decision this winter.

Clemson football is looking to bring in at least 25 guys in this class.

The Tigers currently have 12 commitments and are in good shape to gain commitments from several other recruits before it’s all said and done.

The Clemson football staff will bring in the guys that they believe will make their program better. That being said, fans always want to see the “big splash.” They want the big name with the 5-stars. So, today we’ll take a look at some guys that the Tigers could sign with that kind of star-power.

Looking at the 247 sports top board, here are the guys that are truly considering the Tigers at this point.

  • Devontae Dobbs, 5-star OT (nation’s No. 10 overall)
  • Quavaris Crouch, 5-star RB/LB (nation’s No. 11 overall)
  • Ishmael Sophsfer, 5-star DT (nation’s No. 4 overall)
  • Andrew Booth, 5-star DB (nation’s No. 26 overall)
  • Darnell Wright, 5-star OT (nation’s No. 3 overall)
  • Daxton Hill, 5-star DB (nation’s No. 13 overall)
  • Faatui Tuitele, 5-star DT (nation’s No. 24 overall)

There are a few other guys that probably could be on this list, but this is the gist of 5-stars, according to 247 sports, that could end up choosing Clemson before it’s all said and done.

Like I said, there are some talented 4-stars that could move up to 5-stars and there may be a couple other 5-stars that could be on this list, but this is the majority of guys that have not committed to a school and are truly considering the Tigers, at least on the surface.

Out of the guys on that list, I wouldn’t consider Clemson the “favorite” for many of their services at this point.

I think you could consider the Tigers a favorite for Andrew Booth, the talented cornerback out of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and probably one other- maybe Crouch, for example.

The rest of these guys, Clemson hasn’t shown a lot of interest in to this point or the prospect themselves hasn’t shown a lot of interest in Clemson.

The Tigers are right in the mix for guys like Dobbs, Crouch, Booth, Hill, and Wright, but you just don’t know if they’ll be able to lure them away from some of the other schools that are considered heavier favorites.

The good news is, however, that there’s plenty of time left in this cycle.

I believe Dabo and his staff know exactly what they’re doing and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see them get a couple of these guys before it’s all said and done.
