Vegas released its early odds on several Clemson football games for the 2018 season. Here’s our thoughts on the way-too-early spreads for the Tigers.

The 2018 Clemson football season is now less than 100 days away.

After we hit Memorial Day, which is in just a couple of days, we will officially be in “summer mode” until Fall Camp.

With the countdown to kickoff officially on, Vegas is starting to release spreads and stuff of the like daily.

South Point released its way-too-early spreads for several Clemson football games in 2018. Here are our thoughts and a look at the spreads for the Tigers.

Clemson Football Early Spreads:

  • NC State at Clemson (-20)
  • Clemson (-10) at Florida State
  • Louisville at Clemson (-20.5)
  • South Carolina at Clemson (-19)

I’m interested to see an early spread on Clemson at Texas A&M, but these are the four biggest games on the schedule minus that match up with the Aggies.

Interestingly enough, the Tigers are favored by double-digits in each of these games. Clemson is a 10-point favorite on the road in Tallahassee and is at least a 19-point favorite against NC State, Louisville, and South Carolina.

That’s telling me that Vegas really believes in Clemson’s chances to get back to the College Football Playoff. When a betting service says that the Tigers will win each of its divisional games by at least 10 points, that’s pretty much a telling sign that Clemson will be a heavy favorite to win the ACC Atlantic, ACC Championship, and make it to the College Football Playoff (as should they be).

Will South Carolina come within 19 points of the Tigers this season?

The Gamecocks lost by just 24 in Williams-Brice this past season, but I don’t think they come within three touchdowns of the Tigers this year. The game will be in  Death Valley and you will have a ton of seniors on the Clemson side looking to close out the rivalry with domination.
