Clemson football freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence was seen working out with Georgia freshman QB Justin Fields earlier this week.

The top two freshmen in the nation this past recruiting cycle were quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields.

Both QBs just so happened to come out of the state of Georgia and one decided to stay in-state while the other decided to travel one state over.

Fields elected to become a Bulldog. Lawrence joined a Clemson football program that had competed in the last three College Football Playoffs.

Interestingly enough, the two never played each other in high school but I’d be willing to bet that they play against one another before their time with their respective schools is up.

Summer Workouts

Fields posted a picture of Lawrence on his Instagram as the two are apparently working together.

Summer workouts are extremely important for a football player’s growth and it seems that both have the right idea of coming together and working with some of the finest minds in the country. It wasn’t clear exactly who they were working with or if they were even working with any expert, but I believe that they’re both getting better as a result.

I always love when I see quarterbacks put in the extra time in the summer.

It means that they are truly desiring to be great. It will be interesting to see how much improved Lawrence is in the eyes of his coaches when he returns for fall camp in August.

Next: Could a matchup with Tennessee be on the books?

He will be entrenched in a battle with Kelly Bryant and Hunter Johnson at QB and I think Lawrence has the skill to put his best foot forward and earn quality playing time as a freshman.
