The 2019 Clemson football recruiting class could be one of the best in the school’s history. A 4-star defensive end had the Tigers in his top-five.

The 2019 Clemson football recruiting class picked up a couple of solid commitments over the last month.

The Tigers are trying to keep that momentum going heading into the late-spring and early summer months.

In that spirit, another elite recruit had Clemson in his top-five group. 4-star defensive end Justin Eboigbe out of Forest Park, Georgia announced his top five via Twitter on Monday.

Eboigbe has Clemson in a group with Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee.

Interestingly enough, you see the Tigers in a lot of recruiting battles with the likes of Alabama, Auburn and Georgia for these elite southern prospects. I think it speaks volumes about the Clemson football brand when you see them in the hunt for basically any recruit they offer.

That tells you that Swinney and company are doing something right, of course the wins, ACC titles, and National Championship should tell you that much.

Analysis:

Now, back to Eboigbe.

The 4-star defensive end is a very solid prospect. He’s not quite a KJ Henry or Xavier Thomas coming into his senior season, but he certainly has a chance to be special.

Eboigbe is rated as the No. 9 strong side defensive end in the nation by 247sports and what I really like is explosiveness.

He is a solid 6-4 and 263 pounds, which will bode well for the Tigers. He could come in and become a guy like Richard Yeargin or Austin Bryant. I don’t see Eboigbe coming in and being a starter, but he could certainly work his way up the ladder and become an early-round caliber player before it’s all said and done.

Next: ACC represents second-most first round picks from any conference

Currently, it looks like either Georgia or Auburn would be the favorite for Eboigbe’s services. He visited Clemson for its junior day and it looks like he’ll take an official visit this fall.

It will be interesting to see how his recruitment pans out when it’s all said and done.
