The 2018 Clemson football class will come to a close today. Are any added prospects that sign just icing on the cake for the Tigers?

The 2018 Clemson football class will officially be finalized today.

On a normal National Signing Day, the Tigers would be awaiting decisions from a few prospects, but would also be receiving signatures from about seven other guys that aren’t on campus right now.

With the early signing period, though, some of the luster of this day has been taken away.

Nevertheless, Clemson will wait on decisions from six key prospects with the hopes of adding to its already impressive class.

Just Icing on the Cake

It’s going to seem like Clemson football is losing at some point this day, most likely.

I want you to think about it. How disappointed will Tiger nation be if Justyn Ross and several other guys decide to go elsewhere? It may seem as if the Tigers have lost something.

So, I write this post to tell you that the Tigers have already won.

The early signing day was Clemson’s big day.

The Tigers got National Letters of Intent from four of the top-10 players in the country in Trevor Lawrence, KJ Henry, Xavier Thomas, and Jackson Carman.

Anything in addition to the 15 guys that Clemson football picked up back in December is just icing on the cake.

Would adding a Justyn Ross or a Mario Goodrich be huge for the Tigers? Absolutely. Those are talented players. After all, Clemson doesn’t just offer anyone.

The Tigers offer guys that they really believe will add to their program and all six guys- Justyn Ross, Mario Goodrich, Patrick Surtain Jr., Richard Gouraige, Trevon Flowers, and Dax Hollifield- could add greatly to that Clemson football program.

What’s a successful day?

So, what would be a successful day for Clemson?

I think if you can land just one of these guys, you’ve put a nice stamp on a top-10 caliber class.

I expect that the Tigers have great chances to land a few of these guys, but landing one would result in a successful day and landing more than one would result in a superb day.
