Seven Clemson football players were named to the All-ACC Academic team for the 2017 season on Thursday, as released by TheACC.com

The ACC released its All-Academic honors for the 2017 season and seven Clemson football players were on the list.

Christian Wilkins, Justin Falcinelli, K’Von Wallace, Sean Pollard, Travis Etienne, James Skalski, and Will Spiers were all named to the list.

The seven players marks a record for Clemson football.

The All-ACC Academic team is chose for athletes that maintained a 3.0 GPA for the previous semester and have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The ACC also looks at athletic achievement when choosing who will be added to the team.

School first mindset:

Look, we talk a lot of Clemson football here on Rubbing the Rock. At the end of the day, though, these are student-athletes.

And the “student” part should be emphasized first.

Anytime players receive some kind of accolade pertaining to school, it should be recognized. Christian Wilkins, who chose to return to school for one more year, has already received his Bachelor’s Degree.

Wilkins completed his undergrad in just 2.5 years.

I’m also impressed Travis Etienne, who came in as a freshman and has transitioned really well.

He’s not only been successful on the field, but in the class room as well.

I would assume that there are other Tigers with a 3.0 GPA for the semester as well and we will see the entire ACC Honor Roll in the summer.

We want to say congratulations to these seven men and others from the different ACC programs who received this honor.
