Clemson football will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide tonight in the Sugar Bowl. Here’s our prediction for the matchup down in New Orleans.

Who would’ve thought Clemson football would be standing here on New Years 2018?

The Tigers finished ranked No. 1 in the nation by the College Football Playoff rankings in a year that most expected them to take a major step back.

The last time Clemson played Alabama, the Tigers trailed for the first 59 minutes and 59 seconds of the game.

It wasn’t until one second remaining that Clemson football took its first lead and that’s what it took to beat the Crimson Tide.

This year, we’ve all heard how “the Tide are out for revenge” and how “Alabama is really motivated.”

Here’s our football analysis of the matchup down in New Orleans.

Analysis:

Both defenses will try to limit the run first. Alabama has one of the best stable of running backs in the country. The same can be said for Clemson.

It may very well come down to a battle of Kelly Bryant vs. Jalen Hurts in a passing battle. If that is the case, I think the advantage goes to the Tigers.

Clemson has the better defense, but make no mistake in that Alabama, other than Auburn, is the best defense that the Tigers have faced all season as well.

I don’t see this one going like the last two outings. The past two were shootouts, but I think this one is lower scoring.

It will be close throughout, but Clemson comes out the victor in the end.
