COLUMBIA, SC - NOVEMBER 25: Kelly Bryant

Clemson football will take on the Miami Hurricanes for the ACC Championship on Saturday. Here is our prediction and analysis for the matchup.

Clemson football will be looking to make history on Saturday with a win in the ACC Championship game.

A victory would give the Tigers three-straight conference championships, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished by a Clemson football team since 1986-88 during the Danny Ford years.

In addition to an ACC Championship, Clemson will have a College Football Playoff bid on the table as well.

Standing in their way is a 10-1 Miami team, who is looking to rebound after falling to Pitt last week.

Analysis:

Miami plays with a lot of emotion. As a matter of fact, they remind me of South Carolina, only with more talent.

They have a very solid defensive line and are the best in the country at creating turnovers.

On offense, they rely on running back Travis Homer, who is an explosive sophomore. The Hurricanes will need to turn Clemson over and run the ball effectively to have a chance.

I’m not so sure they will be able to do either one of those things.

Clemson’s offense has been good all season at not turning the ball over and, on the flip side, Miami’s offense hasn’t been able to move the ball down the field consistently. They rely on the big play and getting good field position.

I think the Tigers play “field position” for a while and go conservative, allowing Miami’s emotional tank run out, and then take it to the Hurricanes as the game progresses.
