Clemson football will take on in-state rival South Carolina at 7:30 p.m. tonight on ESPN.
The game, according to most, is expected to be fairly tight.
The Tigers were suffering with several key injuries over the past couple of weeks, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
We will have tons of coverage right here on Rubbing the Rock heading into the game tonight.
Here is the official injury report for Clemson football.
Clemson Football Injury Report:
Out for this game:
Tre Lamar, linebacker (back)
Garrett Williams, tight end (knee)
Questionable:
Chad Smith, linebacker (calf)
Thoughts:
It really isn’t good news to hear that Tre Lamar won’t be able to play. He has been one of the best defensive players on the season for the Tigers.
Chad Smith, the backup middle linebacker, is listed as questionable as well.
Overall, I think you will see Clemson go with a lot of nickel packages to deal with South Carolina’s passing game anyway.
That will leave Dorian O’Daniel and Kendall Joseph as the two primary linebackers.
If Smith can’t go, you will see Jamie Skalski and maybe even one of the Davis twins or Shaq Smith move over in that role when needed.
It is really good news, however, to see that everyone else is back.
Dexter Lawrence, Kendall Joseph, and all of the once-injured defensive backs will be playing. That is huge for Clemson as they try to get the defense healthy.
Offensively, Mitch Hyatt is ready to go as well.

Hopefully getting to rest against The Citadel will prove to pay dividends for the Tiger starters as they play these next two weeks, starting tonight with South Carolina.
