The 2017 Clemson football season hasn’t been the cleanest as far as injuries are concerned. Here’s a look at the injury report with The Citadel looming.

The Clemson football season is just two games away from the regular season being over with.

The Tigers have had several tough injuries this year and it’s clear they are banged up heading down the stretch.

Clemson lost Richard Yeargin, Logan Rudolph, and Greg Huegel to season-ending injuries earlier in the season.

Let’s take a look at the injury report for the Tigers heading into the match up with The Citadel.

Doubtful:

DT Dexter Lawrence, foot

LB Tre Lamar, back

Questionable:

LB Kendall Joseph, knee

DB Ryan Carter, concussion

Probable:

CB Mark Fields, foot

FS Tanner Muse, hand

Thoughts:

It’s been a tough year for the health of the defense. The Tigers have the nation’s best defense, when healthy.

Unfortunately, it’s been a good while since they’ve had everyone at full-strength. Right now you have at least five, maybe six, starters on the defensive side of the ball that may be out on Saturday.

The good news?

You’re playing The Citadel this weekend. If there ever was a week in which you should rest everybody, and I mean everybody, it’s this weekend.

That comes as no disrespect to The Citadel, but rather just the fact that Clemson should be able to handle the Bulldogs without the services of these guys.

I’d expect you to see those guys listed above play sparingly. The only exceptions may be Mark Fields and Marcus Edmond- who it seems will be playing this weekend- because the Tigers need to get those guys back in the rotation.

It’s all about rehab and rest because after The Citadel, you have two games that will decide your College Football Playoff destiny and you will need everyone ready to go, especially when the Tigers go up against Miami for the ACC Championship game.
