Clemson football will host Florida State with a chance to clinch the ACC Atlantic on Saturday. Here’s our prediction and analysis for the game.

It’s an orange-pants game.

Clemson football will dawn the orange pants for the first time all season as they prepare for a championship game.

Now, it’s not quite the championship game that we all thought.

If you had said that the Tigers would play Florida State in November and a win would clinch the ACC Atlantic Division, no one would disagree.

But it would’ve been shocking to say that the Seminoles wouldn’t be playing for the division as well. Instead, they would be playing spoiler with a 3-5 record.

Well, that’s exactly where we are.

Analysis:

Florida State has been injury-plagued, but the truth is just that the Seminoles haven’t played all that well.

They have tons of talent, but nothing to show for it. The offensive line is just about as bad as any unit Clemson football will have played this season.

I expect the Tigers to take advantage of that situation. I think Clemson dominates the lines of scrimmage, especially defensively.

Florida State will be motivated, though. The Seminoles have just gone through the motions for the majority of this season, but there’s no reason to believe that Clemson won’t get their best on Saturday.

I expect a fairly close game. The Tigers will get an early lead, but never get into “blow out” range. Florida State will probably score a late touchdown somewhere along the way to make it look a little closer than it actually was.
