With seven matchups between ranked teams in week 11, the College Football Playoff picture will get smaller once again. Here’s my picks against the spread.
Last week, the Big Ten all but ruined their shot at placing a team in the playoff. With Penn State and Ohio State being upset on the road, Wisconsin is the only team left with a legitimate shot at the playoff. Though the Badgers are undefeated at the moment, I don’t believe they can beat any of the top three teams in the East division.
Notre Dame and Miami helped their playoff chances with wins last week. Unfortunately, the two programs must face off this week. The loser of this contest will likely end their chances at making the playoff.
Here’s the week 11 picks against the spread:
Picks Against The Spread
No. 11 Ohio State vs. No. 13 Michigan State:
Current Spread: +17 Michigan State
Spread Prediction: Despite being blown out by Iowa on the road last week, Ohio State remains one of the most talented teams in the country. That being said, the away team has won the last seven matchups between Ohio State and Michigan State. The Spartans will at least cover the spread.
No. 17 Virginia Tech vs. Georgia Tech:
Current Spread: -1 Virginia Tech
Spread Prediction: I expect Virginia Tech to win this game by at least a touchdown. The Hokies suffered a tough loss on the road at Miami last week. That being said, their offense will provide major matchup problems for Georgia Tech.
No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 10 Auburn:
Current Spread: +2 Georgia
Spread Prediction: Somehow Georgia enters this matchup as the underdog. Auburn has one of the most experienced offensive lines in the country, opening up giant holes for their talented running backs. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs have an elite defense, allowing just 11.7 points per game. I believe Georgia wins this one outright.
