CLEMSON, SC - OCTOBER 28: Teammates Christian Wilkins

Clemson football will travel up to Raleigh to take on NC State on Saturday. Here’s our pick against the spread for the match up.

Clemson football will travel to NC State for what will be considered the de facto ACC Atlantic Championship game on Saturday.

The Tigers come into the match up ranked No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings with an overall record of 7-1.

NC State has two losses, one to South Carolina and one to Notre Dame, and sits at No. 20 in the College Football Playoff poll.

Here is our spread prediction for the Clemson football game this Saturday.

Clemson Football Spread Prediction:

Current Spread: Clemson -7

Spread Prediction: The Tigers are a touchdown favorite heading into the game against NC State on the road.

I’m not really sure what to make of that spread. The Wolfpack have an upperclassmen-led team with one of the best defensive line groups in the country. After watching the Notre Dame game, though, I do believe they have some flaws.

Especially on the offensive side of the ball.

At home, I expect NC State to come out focused and ready to go, but they will not score more than 20. As long as Clemson’s defense comes out and plays as they have every game this season besides Syracuse, the Tigers will shut down that Wolfpack offense.

Especially if running back Nyheim Hines can’t go.

I expect the Tigers to cover the spread, but it very well may be a close game and it could come down to the wire.

Current Over/Under: 51

Over/Under Prediction: This game features two of the best defenses in the nation. Clemson hasn’t gone “over” in a game since Louisville.

And it’s not going to happen here.

I expect the final score to be something like 24-14 or 21-14. I don’t see the Tigers scoring more than 35 and I don’t see NC State scoring more than 21. Even if both of those reached their max, the game would only go over by five points.

That being said, I feel pretty confident we’ll see an “under” in this one.
