The 2018 Clemson football recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best in school history. A 4-star Alabama RB may want to be part of that prestige.

Clemson football recruiting continues to be elite throughout the nation.

For 2018, the Tigers already boast commitments from the top quarterback in the nation in Trevor Lawrence and the top defensive end in the nation in Xavier Thomas.

In addition to those two, Clemson football recruiting also has pledges from 4-stars Mike Jones Jr., Derion Kendrick, Josh Belk, Justin Mascoll, Kyler McMichael, Darnell Jefferies, and Jake Venables.

There’s another 4-star recruit that would be interested in joining these future Tigers.

Running back Harold Joiner, out of Birmingham, Alabama, has shown a huge interest in Clemson.

Joiner has yet to receive an offer from Clemson football recruiting as of yet.

The 4-star running back visited Tiger Town back in September when Clemson took on Auburn. According to reports, he was blown away by what he saw and has an interest in joining the Tigers.

Analysis:

Obviously, the favorite to win Joiner’s services is Alabama, but LSU is high on his list as well. I would also think that Auburn is in that mix.

He has not set any official visits as of yet, but told TheState.com that Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Clemson are likely where he’d want to go. I think he’d also consider going to Michigan State.

Joiner is very athletic and has great vision. He is 6-foot-3 and 215 lbs. He’s not a big bruiser back, but instead is more of a jumbo athlete.

He can catch the ball out of the backfield and make plays in the running game.

It would seem that Clemson football recruiting would want to take one running back in the 2018 class. Unless C.J. Fuller or Adam Choice choose to transfer or graduate, Clemson will have all four scholarship running backs left.

The Tigers will look to have a fifth one on the roster and it very well may be Joiner. I’d expect Joiner to get an offer from Clemson before it’s all said and done and who knows what will happen from there.

I’d still expect him to go LSU or Alabama, but Clemson will be squarely in the mix.
