Rubbing The Rock provides updated ACC Power rankings following week 2 of the 2017 season.

14) Boston College (down 4 spots)

Record: 1-1

Recent game: lost to Wake Forest 34-10

The hot seat watch has officially begun for Steve Addazio. Losing by 24 points at home is passable if you’re losing to Clemson or Florida State, but not Wake Forest. And the schedule doesn’t get easier: the next five games are against Notre Dame, Clemson, Central Michigan, Virginia Tech, and Louisville. Ouch.

Next game vs. Notre Dame

13) Syracuse (down 5 spots)

Record: 1-1

Recent game: lost to MTSU 30-23

It’s rare for a non-Power 5 team to go on the road, have over 100 yards in penalties, and win. But MTSU did, which really could be a crushing blow for the Orange who will now need to win a game they shouldn’t somewhere along the way to earn bowl eligibility.

Next game: vs. Central Michigan

12) Virginia (up 1 spot)

Record: 1-1

Recent game: lost to Indiana 34-17

Here’s your stat of the week: UVa QB Kurt Benkert completed 39 of his 66 (yes, 66) passes Saturday for a grand total of…259 yards. That’s less than 4 yards per pass. Clearly, something has to give. The running game isn’t helping, but a QB throwing that much isn’t giving the team much of a chance.

Next game: vs. UConn
