The Clemson football program enters the 2017 season with a host of new faces on both sides of the ball. Here are five players to watch in their season opener vs. Kent State.

While Kent State is not the most impressive opponent Clemson will face, this is one of their most important games of the season. The Tigers will embark on a grueling five game stretch following week one.

Waiting for Clemson on the other side of Kent State is a physical Auburn team. As such, the Tigers must get as many quality reps in as possible against the Golden Flashes. Practice reps are valuable, but, their is no replacement for live action.

Kent State also has a few playmakers on their roster that could keep things interesting if Clemson comes out sluggish. Yes, the Tigers are one of the premiere programs in the country, but, in the world of college football anything is possible. Don’t believe me? Ask Michigan how they feel about Appalachian State.

Be sure to keep an eye on these five players on Saturday as some have already established themselves and others are looking to do so.
