2018 Clemson football kicker commit BT Potter is already college ready in terms of leg power. Here’s some highlights from his week 1 performance.

2018 Clemson football kicker commit BT Potter is impressive to say the least.

Potter, who committed to the Tigers back in June, is listed as 247 sports’ No. 4 kicker in the nation and the 28th best prospect in the state of South Carolina.

One thing that Clemson football needs is a strong kicker and punter. There have been questions, not necessarily with Greg Huegel, but at other points, at that position and it will be nice to have someone that can handle that position with success.

Potter released his Week 1 highlights last week. Here’s what he was able to do as South Pointe High School opened up its’ season.

What’s most impressive with BT Potter is his leg power. Look at how far his kickoffs are going.

That’s something that Clemson football has desperately needed in the last few seasons that it has lacked. I can’t remember the amount of times the Tigers have kicked off and I have wished the kickoff specialist would kick the ball through the end zone.

Instead, the opposing team normally fields the ball around their own 10-yard line and that can come back to bite you.

Potter kicked a 67-yard field goal in a showcase event a few months ago, which just shows his pure talent.

Obviously, Potter isn’t even on campus yet and still has a long way to go before he will be a collegiate level kicker, but I’m certainly impressed with what he has been able to do.

That kicking spot can be overlooked, especially in recruiting, but Clemson football scored big by picking up a talent like BT Potter.

Of course, it will come down to his mentality. Can he be mentally strong enough to come in and win the kicker/punter positions? He has the talent, but it will take a concerted effort.
