2018 Clemson football commit Trevor Lawrence led Cartersville (GA) to a victory over Allatoona as the High School football season opened up Friday.

2018 Clemson football commit Trevor Lawrence opened up his senior season at Cartersville High School with a 35-14 win.

Lawrence performed very well, according to USA Today Sports, and is continuing to prove to everyone in the country why he is considered the nation’s No. 1 recruit.

Lawrence completed 13 of 19 passes for 230 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception while teammate Rico Frye had eight carries for 44 yards and three touchdowns.

Here’s one of Trevor Lawrence’s touchdown passes from the win Friday night.

Lawrence throws a bullet under pressure to find his man for a touchdown. I love how he keeps his eyes down field despite having defensive linemen applying pressure.

That shows just how calm, cool, and collected he is as a quarterback. He’s also proving just how good he really is. Lawrence has that “it” factor. What you always want to look for in a quarterback is their winning mentality and he certainly has it.

Does he impressive measurables? Absolutely.

But, what I think is more impressive is that Lawrence, with the win on Friday, led Cartersville to a school-record 31 consecutive wins.

That tells me that he has some Deshaun Watson in him and, with his measurables, he could turn out to be one of the best quarterbacks that Clemson football has ever seen step on campus. I know that’s still far down the road, but I really like what I see from this kid.
