The QB and RB position battles for Clemson football are far from over, but Tiger fans should feel pretty good if it’s Kelly Bryant and Tavien Feaster.

The position battles for the 2017 Clemson football team are far from over, but there’s one combination that would keep opposing defensive coordinators up at night.

May I suggest this possibility:

Kelly Bryant wins the quarterback position and Tavien Feaster wins the running back spot. That could be one of the most dynamic backfields in Clemson football history.

Just the measurables are scary.

Kelly Bryant weighs in at 222 and Tavien Feaster weighs in 222. Thats 444 pounds in the backfield.

Not only would these guys be hard to tackle, but they are also both extremely athletic. Feaster and Bryant can beat the best of them in a foot race. That means you would have two big guys with speed carrying the ball for you.

This would open up the type of offense that the Clemson football coaches will want to run with Kelly Bryant at quarterback: A read-option spread offense.

The  ability to successfully run the option will open up Kelly Bryant’s throwing ability and he will also have a very capable receiver in the backfield beside him in Feaster.

With the possibilities of keeping the ball, handing it off to Feaster, or throwing the ball to one of the 7 receiving threats, Kelly Bryant would have an offense tailored to him with all the pieces to make the Tigers successful in 2017.

I don’t know what will happen in the position battles for Clemson football over the next few weeks, but I guarantee you that a Feaster-Bryant backfield would be almost impossible for a defense to stop.
