Dabo Swinney’s football camp wrapped up this past weekend and many kids from high school to elementary school made trips to Clemson, SC.

Like Casen Jenkins from Tennessee who we profiled weeks ago, Zion Burns traveled to Clemson from another state. Accompanied by his parents, Burns arrived from Indiana on the ninth and left the upstate on the 11th.

The Lawrenceburg native is a 9-year-old student and football player at Lawrenceburg Primary School. The grandson of Clemson football fan Dennis Payne, who is also from Lawrenceburg, Burns is a two-time Dabo Swinney football camp attendee.

RTR: Why do you like Clemson?

"I like Clemson, because they are the Tigers and how they are the best team in the country."

RTR: What positions did you play during camp?

"Quarterback, wide receiver and safety"

RTR: Favorite drill from camp?

"The wide receiver drill."

RTR: How do you feel about your parents taking you to coach Dabo Swinney’s camp?

"Awesome, and I love them for taking me."

RTR: Will you ask them to take you back next year?

"Yes, already have!"

RTR: Who is your favorite coach?

"Dabo Swinney is my favorite coach, but my camp coach was Judah Davis."

RTR: Who is your favorite Clemson player?

"Mike Williams is my favorite Clemson player."

Zion Burns camping seven hours away from home just gives another example of how the Clemson football brand continues to grow. As he said above, “…they are the best team in the country.”

He also said that he loves his parents for bringing him to Clemson, and they definitely love him too, to travel 14 hours(round trip) for two days of football camp.

We can catch this Lawrenceburg Tiger in South Carolina’s Tigertown again next year.
