Incoming freshman wide receiver, Tee Higgins received multiple awards from the Knoxville News Sentinel for his athletic accomplishments during his senior year.

Tee Higgins was the crown jewel of Clemson’s 2017 recruiting class. He combines the speed and explosiveness of Sammy Watkins with the size of Mike Williams. Those elite attributes allowed Higgins to dominate his high school counterparts.

The Knoxville News Sentinel recognized Higgins as the boys athlete of the year, as well as the football player of the year.

Higgins should make an immediate impact for the Tigers. With Mike Williams departing for the NFL, the Tigers are in need of a big bodied target. At 6-foot-5, 201 pounds, rising sophomore, Diondre Overton has the frame to replace Williams, however, he must work on his route running and blocking before he can earn valuable reps.

It’ll be interesting to see how co-offensive coordinators, Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott integrate Higgins into the offense. He may be supremely talented, but, Higgins is still a freshman. As such, he will experience an adjustment period before he is ready to perform under the lights. Not to mention the fact that he will be entering one of the most talented position groups on Clemson’s roster.
