It's award watch list season and in the weeks leading up to the 2025 campaign, we'll see handfuls of Clemson football stars make the preseason cut for some major awards.
With fall camp returning, it's been a big week for watch lists as a few have already been unveiled.
Two Tigers have already been named to the Maxwell Award watch list as Cade Klubnik and Antonio Williams made the cut but it felt like there could be 1-2 more offensive additions on there. The Maxwell Award is given to the most outstanding player in the country but that may be a misleading description because it's only for offensive players. Klubnik and Williams were safe picks.
The Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list was revealed on Tuesday afternoon and three more Tigers found their way onto it. Peter Woods, Avieon Terrell, and TJ Parker were all named as members of the watch list for the best defender in college football.
Another award has released its watch list on Tuesday afternoon: the Outland Trophy.
While it's not the most exciting award for fans, it's an important one because the guy who wins the Outland Trophy has to dominate in the trenches all season as it's given to the best interior offensive or defensive linemen (including tackles) in the country.
Two Tigers made the cut.
Blake Miller was the first. The offensive tackle has been one of the best in the ACC since taking over the starting role in 2022 and he was a first-team All-ACC selection in 2024 after being a third-teamer the year before. It's clear that he's only getting better and he's already considered a first-round talent.
The next was Peter Woods. The powerful defensive tackle has been one of the best defenders in the country and he's already made the Nagurski watch list. He had 28 tackles and three sacks last season and is considered a top-five NFL draft prospect.
So, to recap, the Tigers have already had Antonio Williams, Cade Klubnik, Peter Woods, TJ Parker, Avieon Terrell, and Blake Miller named to preseason award watch lists.
