Staff writer Ben Greeson previews the Clemson football 2016 home schedule.

Death Valley. Home sweet home.

And what a home it’s been for the Tigers. Let me rephrase that.

What a home it’s been for Clemson football under head coach Dabo Swinney. Since taking the reigns of the Clemson football program in 2008 Coach Swinney is a staggering 47-5 while playing on  the majestic landscape of Frank Howard Field.

One of Coach Swinney’s mottos is you’ve got to protect your own turf. The Tigers have done exactly that.

Of the five losses, they’ve dropped games to eventual National Champion Florida State, they’ve lost twice to bitter-rival South Carolina, and they’ve also dropped a game each to TCU and Miami.

Impressive to say the least.

Clemson is 14-0 over the last two years at home. The last home loss for the Tigers was the embarrassing defeat, in primetime, versus Florida State.

Swinney has had three seasons with undefeated home records. Home field advantage is a real thing in Death Valley as 81,500 hungry Tiger fans reach decibel levels equal to jet engines, and cause frequent registering’s on the campus Richter Scales.

Today I want to examine the seven home games ahead of us in 2016.
