Three realistic expectations for Clemson football against N.C. State

2. This isn’t going to be a blowout

Most Clemson football fans have come to the realization that as long as the offense is as bad as it is, no game is going to be a blowout.

You simply can’t runaway from opponents when you can’t score, no matter how good your defense is.

This is a legitimate road test and N.C. State is much more talented and possesses a lot more depth on both sides of the ball– even with the two defensive injuries– than what Georgia Tech had.

If the Yellow Jackets can keep the game within one score on the road in Death Valley, there’s no reason to believe that N.C. State can’t do the same.

The hope is that the offense begins to click and that they use a bit of the momentum they built in the fourth quarter of that Georgia Tech game to build on, but right now a realistic expectation for this one should be that it’s not goin to be a blowout.

Frankly, nothing we’ve seen from the Tigers tells us they have the ability to score enough points to make it a blowout.
