Three bold predictions for Clemson football against the S.C. State Bulldogs

2. Barrett Carter leads the defense in tackles

We’ve seen the talent of James Skalski, Bryan Bresee, Myles Murphy, Baylon Spector, Andrew Mukuba, Andrew Booth Jr. and many others here early on in the season.

One player who is going to be a major part of this defense that wasn’t on display in Week 1 was freshman LB Barrett Carter.

Carter played just one snap on defense last week, but we can expect that number will be much higher this week. That’s why the next bold prediction is that he’ll lead the team in tackles for the week.

Carter will play with the starters in the first couple of quarters, but he’ll also be on the field late with the backups when this game is out of hand. Expect him to make some plays and we wouldn’t be surprised at all for Tiger fans to take notice of him and the performance he puts on display today.
