Clemson football would love to add these three Big Ten players

There is no roster in the country with more talent and depth than Clemson football as we head into the 2020 season.

The Tigers’ main competition was the Ohio State Buckeyes, whose conference canceled fall completition.

With Clemson football now staunchly considered the favorite heading into the season, there is another sentiment being echoed around the world of College Football: Could we see a max exodus of Big Ten and Pac-12 players entering the NCAA Transfer Portal looking to play elsewhere?

It doesn’t seem likely that we will see any kind of max exodus simply because of the timing of the decision with schools are already in session & programs are already going through fall camp.

That being said, what if the NCAA did grant an ’emergency waiver’ to allow players who want to play to go elsewhere?

Even if that were the case, Dabo Swinney has remained adamant that the Clemson football program doesn’t recruit transfer and the Tigers aren’t interested, but these are unprecedented times. What if the right name came calling?

It’s next to impossible, but there’s nothing wrong with having a little fun with hypotheticals. Again,  Clemson isn’t going to recruit transfers and that’s been noted, but it’s always fun to have that ‘what-if’ conversation.

Here are three Big Ten players that certainly have talent to add something to the Clemson football roster.

David Bell

3. David Bell (Purdue)

With the announcement that Rondale Moore would be opting out of the 2020 season earlier, David Bell looked to be poised for a breakout year with the Purdue Boilermakers.

That won’t happen now.

Bell is a big-time play-maker at the wide receiver position who could provide depth and even compete for a starting job for the Tigers. His athleticism would be a nice addition and he’d definitely help add some depth to that wide receiver room.

2. Tyler Linderbaum (Iowa)

If you were looking at the Clemson offensive line currently and had to address one position, which would it be? The answer likely is center.

Tyler Linderbaum is likely the No. 1 center prospect in next year’s NFL Draft and he is a seasoned veteran with tons of experience.

Adding him to the offensive line would be a major get and would give the Tigers a consistent option at the center position.

Chris Olave

1. Chris Olave (Ohio State)

Chris Olave entered this season as one of the top wide receivers in the nation and he’ll be one of the first taken off the board next spring in the NFL Draft.

He expressed a deep desire to play this season- along with his other Ohio State teammates- and he’d be a great addition to the Tigers.

Olave is a wide receiver who is tough to guard- Clemson learned that in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl- and he’d definitely be a standout with the Tigers.

Just to reiterate, none of this article should be taken seriously or looked upon as anything more than enjoying a hypothetical discussion. Clemson isn’t going to recruit transfers and that’s been noted, but it’s always fun to have that ‘what-if’ conversation.
