Dabo Swinney could accomplish something only John Wooden has done

Dabo Swinney has already set many records and achieved all kinds of accolades during his career as the Head Coach of the Clemson football program.

Swinney, who took over the Clemson football program in 2008, has led the Tigers to two National Championships, six ACC Championships and five-straight CFB Playoff appearances.

Another appearance in the CFB Playoff this season, though, would put Dabo Swinney in rarefied air.

If Clemson reaches the CFB Playoff this year, Dabo Swinney would join John Wooden as the only collegiate coach to take a team to six-consecutive Final Fours, according to Tim Bourrett.

Dabo Swinney is continuing to make history

Now, this stat doesn’t talk about top-four finishes, it’s simply talking about Final Four appearances. That’s why Swinney would be the only coach to accomplish such a feat in College Football.

The CFB Playoff has only been around for a little less than a decade now and, other than Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney has been the most-accomplished coach.

That being said, this still shows just how special Swinney is and what he has been able to accomplish.

Not even Nick Saban can say that he has taken a program to six-straight CFB Playoffs. Swinney has been consistently spectacular the last half-decade and there are few College Football- or College Basketball coaches, for that matter- who can boast about the same success that Swinney has had.

No one ever thought it would be possible to see this Clemson football program ascend to the heights that it has reached, but here we are. And that’s all a testament to Swinney.

Swinney continues to recruit, develop and build his program in a way that we’ve never seen before and that’s why he has a chance to join the ranks of legendary CBB Coach John Wooden in accomplishing something that’s never been done in College Football history.
