Things will need to change in 2020-2021 in order for this team to achieve everything that they are capable of.
It is easy to understand why Clemson basketball will have a lot of expectations in 2020-2021. They lose Paul Grinde, Tevin Mack, and Curran Scott.
Fordham transfer Nick Honor will be a huge addition for the Tigers as far as guys already on campus and in the locker room. The 5-10 guard will make Clemson one of the deepest guard teams in the ACC along with Dawes, Hunter, and Newman, he will be the best ball handler the Tigers have.
Clemson basketball will welcome in freshman PJ Hall and Olivier-Maxence Prosper. Hall is the highest-ranked recruit that Brownell has signed in his decade at the helm of Clemson basketball. Both with see early playing time and expect Hall to start.
The starting lineup will something like this in 2020-2021:
Al-Amir Dawes, Nick Honor, John Newman III, Aamir Simms, and PJ Hall.
Even if Hall does not start out the gate, this will be the lineup that will see the most starts when it is all said and done and will play together the most. Being able to bring guards like Clyde Trapp and Chase Hunter off the bench will be a huge plus for Clemson basketball in 2021.
