The 2021 Clemson football recruiting cycle could be yet another big year for the Tigers. Here’s a look at five of the top targets for the Tigers.

The Clemson football coaching staff is constantly recruiting and it’s clear that the coaches have turned their attention towards the 2021 cycle at this point.

The Tigers currently have five commitments in the class- all five are 4-stars, according to the 247 Sports’ Composite rankings– and are looking to get the ball rolling on the class through the spring and summer.

Here’s a look at the five juniors who are committed to Clemson at this point:

  • Marcus Tate, 4-star OT
  • Jeremiah Trotter Jr., 4-star LB
  • Ryan Linthicum, 4-star C
  • Dacari Collins, 4-star WR
  • Phil Mafah, 4-star RB

Here are five of the top targets for the Clemson football coaching staff as the Tigers look to bring in another elite recruiting class.

5. Jake Briningstool, 4-star TE

We’ll kick off the list with the nation’s No. 1 tight end in Jake Briningstool.

Briningstool seems to be a heavy Clemson lean at this point and is on campus for the Tigers’ Elite Junior Day.

He’s a guy that has the ability to catch the ball, but also does a nice job in the blocking game.

Clemson will likely be replacing Braden Galloway after the 2020 season, so it would be nice to add a high-caliber tight end like Briningstool, who is the only tight end to draw an offer from the Tigers currently in the 2021 cycle.

4. Korey Foreman, 5-star DE

As deep as Clemson’s defensive line is, the Tigers will continue to recruit at the position.

The top pass-rusher on their board is 5-star DE Korey Foreman.

Foreman has been recruited heavily by Dabo Swinney and it’s clear that the Tigers would love to have in on the roster.

Foreman shows good strength and explosiveness off-the-ball and is a guy that could develop into an elite pass-rusher from the edge. He’s still fairly early in the recruiting process, though, and it will be a little while before we hear a decision.

3. Tomm Brockermeyer, 5-star OT

Clemson already has two offensive line commitments in this class and the Tigers took several offensive linemen in the 2019 class.

That being said, there’s still a spot or two open and Brockermeyer is on the shortlist for one of those spots.

Clemson is one of the leaders for his services and it will be interesting to see how his recruitment plays out.

Brockermeyer is the type of offensive lineman that could come in and make an impact right away and there’s a real reason why he’s consider the top offensive tackle in the country.

2. Agiye Hall, 5-star WR/ Beaux Collins, 4-star WR

Next on our list, we have a tie for two play-making wide receivers.

Clemson already has one commitment in this class in 4-star WR Dacari Collins, but the Tigers will be looking to add at least one more.

Clemson already lost TJ Chase to transfer and the Tigers will lose Justyn Ross, Cornell Powell and Amari Rodgers following this season. Look for the Tigers to heavily recruit both of these guys.

Agiye Hall is the No. 1 WR in the country and has shown an interest in Clemson, but it’s clear that his recruitment is just really getting underway and that he also has interest in other schools like Alabama and LSU.

Beaux Collins was the top performer at the wide receiver position a year ago at Dabo Swinney’s camp and is the former teammate of current Clemson football QB DJ Uiagalelei. Collins is a big wide receiver with all the attributes to be successful at the next level. It won’t be long before he moves up into the 5-star ranks across the board.

1. Payton Page, 5-star DT

Perhaps the top prospect in this 2021 class is 5-star DT Payton Page.

Page is a 6-foot-4, 315 pound monster who has the ability to make an immediate impact and could be a nice complement to the pieces the Tigers already have.

Could you imagine a monster like Page lining up beside Demonte Capehart, Bryan Bresee and Myles Murphy? It’d certainly be a sight that no opposing offensive line would want to see.

Page is considered a Clemson lean at this point and the Tigers will look to continue to build a relationship with the star-studded defensive line through the spring and into the summer.

There are several other prospects that Clemson will be heavily targeting through the spring- especially based on need at a position- but these guys are clearly high on the Tigers’ board as the 2021 recruiting cycle picks up.
