Clemson Football: 5 Early Enrollees who will compete for playing time

2. Tyler Davis, 4-star DT

Clemson lost Christian Wilkins, Dexter Lawrence and Albert Huggins off that defensive tackle group.

That means the room is already open for competition heading into 2019. Well, the room just got even more open with the Tigers’ two projected starters- Nyles Pinckney and Jordan Williams- announced out of spring practice due to injuries.

That means Davis will be largely competing with Xavier Kelly and Darnell Jefferies in the spring.

I think you could see him factor into the two-deep before it’s all said and done. Either way, he’s going to have an opportunity to play early because of the lack of depth at the position.
