Alabama

Here’s the first scenario.

Alabama finished 11-1 with their only loss being at Auburn. To me, I don’t think they’ve set themselves apart from anyone else.

The Crimson Tide haven’t played anyone all season. They beat LSU, Texas A&M and Mississippi State, but none of those teams are necessarily top-tier teams this year.

So, how does Clemson matchup?

I respect Nick Saban and the talent that Alabama has. In my opinion, I would still take the Tigers though.

Clemson has a better offense, defense, and more depth. This isn’t a rematch of the 2016 teams. Both teams have regressed from last season, but it’s clear, at least in my mind, that Alabama has taken the bigger step back.
