As we continue to prepare for the start of the 2020 Clemson football season, it’s clear that Tiger fans are excited about the opportunity to see stars Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne line up in the backfield together one last time.

Both Lawrence and Etienne have an opportunity to not only finish out their Clemson football careers with a special season, but are also considered Heisman favorites heading into the year.

While the return Etienne- who is already the all-time leading rusher in Clemson football history- was a huge deal for the Tigers, fans shouldn’t forget about the explosive play-making running back who will be taking carries behind him: Lyn-J Dixon.

Lyn-J Dixon will make an impact for Clemson football

The fact that the Tigers have Etienne and Dixon in the running back room together for another year just doesn’t seem fair in some ways.

Both of these guys have potential to be big-time play-makers in the NFL and they’re going to play together for yet another season.

While there’s plenty of hype surrounding Etienne, we shouldn’t forget about the impact that Dixon will make. Dixon, who is the clear second-string running back coming into the season, is a guy who can break off a big run at any time.

Though Etienne will get plenty of carries, Tiger fans should expect Dixon to get his fair share and more than what we’ve seen in the past. Clemson is going to lean on him to take a bulk of the load to keep Etienne fresh. Not only will Dixon get an opportunity to carry the ball quite a bit this season, but he’ll shine as a result.

It’s simply not going to be fair for opposing defenses to have to defend two legitimate starters at the next level and Tiger fans shouldn’t forget about the impact that Dixon will make this season.
