The rest of the 2019 Clemson football freshman class is now on campus. The summer enrollees have been assigned their numbers and are ready to begin.

The 2019 Clemson football freshman class enrolled in school this past weekend and officially began their careers as Tigers.

The class, which features 29 total freshmen, had 17 early enrollees. Now, the remainder of the class is officially on campus and will begin classes and working out with the team.

One of the biggest names to enroll this summer was 5-star CB Andrew Booth. Booth is in a situation where he will be able to come in and compete for playing time right away. The Tigers have AJ Terrell etched in as a returning starter, but the cornerback position opposite-side of him is completely open.

Kyler McMichael, Derion Kendrick and fellow freshman Sheridan Jones have all been seeing time at that spot, with Kendrick penciled in as the starter right now.

Booth will have an opportunity to come in and potentially win the job. If he did, that would allow Kendrick to move back over to the offensive side of the ball and start at wide receiver, while potentially still seeing action as a reserve at cornerback.

Other notable summer enrollees include RB Michel Dukes, RB Chez Mellusi, LB Vonta Bentley, LB Kane Patterson, DT Tayquon Johnson and TE Davis Allen.

Each of those guys will have an opportunity to compete for playing time as summer enrollees. Dukes and Mellusi will be competing for the third-string running back spot with Darien Rencher. Bentley and Patterson will be looking to fill in the depth chart at linebacker while both Tayquon Johnson and Davis Allen will be filling in positions that certainly need depth.

Next. Alabama a factor for 5-star DE Jordan Burch. dark

This class has a chance to be special. It’s a big class, but there is certainly quality in terms of talent and ability and it will be interesting to see how they develop over the coming years.
