Former Clemson football defensive end Austin Bryant is projected as a mid-round prospect in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft.

The 2019 NFL Draft is nearly upon us.

The annual event will begin Thursday evening and run through the weekend with several former Clemson football players expected to get their names called at some point during the process.

Out of those players, all of the Power Rangers are expected to be drafted. Though there’s been a lot of talk about the likes of Christian Wilkins, Dexter Lawrence and Clelin Ferrell, all of which are expected to go in the first round, people shouldn’t forget about Austin Bryant.

In the latest CBS Sports Mock Draft, Austin Bryant is projected to go to the Dallas Cowboys in the late picks of the fourth round.

Bryant has been projected as high as an early pick in the fourth round and as low as a pick in the sixth round. I think there’s a good chance we see him go in the mid-to-late picks of the fourth round or early picks of the fifth round.

In my opinion, Bryant would be an absolute steal in one of those mid-rounds.

If you watch his film, you’ll see that he was extremely impressive against some of the best offensive lines in the nation. Bryant is the perfect defensive end to set a hard-edge and though he doesn’t always have the best pass-rushing ability, his technique is very good and he’s going to make an impact at the next level.

The one factor that really impressed me about Austin Bryant, though, was when we found out that he had played the last half of the season with a torn pectoral muscle.

That, in my opinion, showed his work ethic and character. NFL teams should’ve taken note of that and saw the commitment to the game that he possessed. That’s the kind of player you want in your organization.

He’s a guy that is 100 percent committed to the team. You’re not going to have any off-the-field problems with him and he’s going to work as hard as possible to improve upon his game on the field.

Bryant is, without a doubt, a gem in the mid-rounds and one lucky NFL organization is going to find that out very quickly.
