Richard Yeargin III, a 3 star linebacker recruit from Florida, has committed to Clemson, according to Rivals.com. Yeargin, who had previously committed to Notre Dame, decommitted from the Irish a few days ago, but has denied the report that he has made a decision on where to attend school next year. Nevertheless, TigerIllustrated.com is standing by their report that Yeargin has indeed chosen the Tigers over a long list of other interested schools.
If the reports are true, Yeargin becomes the fourth linebacker to commit to Clemson in this years recruiting class. Linebacker is certainly an area of need for the Tigers as they look to continue to add depth on the defensive side of the ball with Seniors Quandon Christian and Spencer Shuey leaving. At this late stage in the recruiting game, any commitment is a good get for the Tigers, with a couple big names still holding out on making their announcement until National Signing Day on February 5th.
Coach Dabo Swinney has currently assembled the nation’s 12th best recruiting class according to Rivals.com and the 14th best class according to ESPN.com
